D.Charles Fouqueray (1869-1956)

  • Best known for being a marine painter, a career influenced by his father, who was a naval officer

  • Studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris under Alexandre Cabanel and Fernand Cormon

  • Exhibited works at the Salon and awarded a medal at the 1897 Salon

  • Appointed Peintre de la Marine in 1908

  • Awarded Prix Rosa Bonheur in 1909 and Prix de l'Indochine in 1914
